I think his biggest mis-read here was decentralization. If anything everything is becoming increasingly centralized to the point that we NEED to decentralize to keep things stable, but not to the level he is saying. I just think the worst case here we're really going towards Dystopian Sci-Fi "one world government and super corporations" rather than city states.
