edit: why the downvotes? legit curious
I'm curious about the future, especially games, if they want to take on consoles.
PS4 and XboxOne are 7 years old and while the next gen looks really good Apple can refresh the productline much quicker (on the other hand it's a good question if people really would want to buy a new console say every year because Apple sure will be aggressive pushing out new models much more frequently)
- coldpie 6y agomacOS's gaming story has always been pretty abysmal. They nuked a ton of games when they dropped 32-bit support, and they refuse to implement the graphics API that the gaming industry is standardizing around. I don't foresee any improvements in Mac gaming from this announcement.

So I think that's a pretty big thing With touch controls on non-touchscreen devices. It isn't big. I think the fact they chose to show off a fairly poorly running version of Tomb Raider as their demo goes to show that they still fundamentally do not understand the gaming market.
- djmobley 6y agoThey chose Tomb Raider to demo Rosetta 2 precisely because it’s an old game built for x86
- rahkiin 6y agoNote: the gaming industry is not actually standardizing around Vulkan. It is still DX on Windows, Metal on Mac/iOS, and then Vulkan on Android
