- OstiaAntica 16y agoIt probably violates wiretap law to knowingly tape this guy, even on a stolen laptop.
- tptacek 16y agoMassachusetts is, in fact, a two-party consent state. The stolen laptop thing might get you off the hook, but probably not without legal bills.
- pavel_lishin 16y agoI think it also only pertains to conversations, right? Even in a single-party consent state, you can't just record someone without their knowledge when they're just gettin' their dance on to some shitty music alone in their room.
- scott_s 16y agoThat's not this situation, though. The thief knowingly recorded himself.
- edj 16y agoIt seems like the two-party rule applies to video only if audio is captured.[1] [1]http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/massachusetts-recording-law http://www.citmedialaw.org/legal-guide/massachusetts-recordi...
