Forget backroads, when travelling by highway you will be met with a sign that says "No Services 120 mi". And there is literally nothing resembling civilization, aside from the road itself, for that entire stretch.
- eesmith 6y agoI've done US 50 in Nevada a couple of times, yes. As an example to our European reader, https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-next-gas-179-miles-distant-a-sign-at-the-start-of-nv-140-connecting-130661134.html https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-next-gas-179-miles-distant... - "Next gas 179 miles."
- exhilaration 6y agoThat's a great picture, highly recommend everyone checks it out. That's 288 km.
- INTPenis 6y agoWow, on my bucketlist is definitely to drive through the states and see those sights. 179 miles is almost half the distance from me to Stockholm. It's not too far gas-wise, I mean you can easily make it without re-fueling. But it's definitely a warning you should heed. Especially with old american gas guzzlers I guess.
- cameldrv 6y agoYou can make it without refueling, but maybe not if you start with less than half a tank. That sign means better fill up now!
