I still prefer a wired connection, but I don't think wireless is evil. The main problem is people use crap equipment, most likely provided by the ISP. Most of this equipment has chips that overheat a degrade the performance. Most of the ISP only provides AIO router+modem combos. People use it instead of buying a good router+wireless access point.
