I've been meaning to make a serious post about it on HN for a bit, have just been quite heavily procrastinating. In short tho - the underlying implications of this article really baffle me whenever (which is just about all the time) I think about our ideas of what consciousness/sentience means amongst all of humanity. Like, yeah, this fucked up the South a little bit - but WHO has estimated that ~1 Billion suffer worldwide. Absolutely insane
