IIRC Blu-Ray players needed Internet connections to validate discs... I think?

- jdofaz 6y agoNo, and some early models didn't even have network connections.
- ipython 6y agoNo internet needed for the Blu-ray Discs I’m aware of. I have my Sony player disconnected and have no problem playing movies.

- syntheticnature 6y agoNot validate discs, but one of the issues is Blu-ray discs have Java apps on them, and some of the Java apps on the discs are, uh... buggy. So pushing out updates to compensate for said discs is often necessary.
