Not sure if you have experience the unskippable ad but it was egregious. I force quit edge from task manager before it finished but I cannot uninstall Edge from the add or remove programs.
I'm with you, launch a guide on how to use edge as soon as they click on the Internet Explorer icon. Please do not unset my preference of default browser, please do not make me crash your program to avoid your ad... in general why does my start bar get worse every time it changes as it lurches towards an ad display vector.
- sk0g 6y agoNot being able to uninstall Edge is valid, IMO. How would the average user recover from deleting their only web browser?
- folmar 6y agoHave people already lost usb drives, sd cards, bluetooth etc.?
- sk0g 6y agoYou're overestimating the technical aptitude of the average person. If it's not a URL or in an app store, it basically doesn't exist for a lot of people.
- folmar 6y agoThis may be very true for the generations born with tablets, but I'd expect the average layperson to be accustomed to 30 years of installing software or moving things via floppy drives or USB drives, but be wary of getting something from the Internet as it always was the source of malware.
- sleepychu 6y agoTake your point, quite happy to have some alternative to uninstall like "Please hide forever" ala "disable" in Android.
