Ask HN: Validating donations to a charity as a third party

I want to build an app that helps raise funds for a cause I care about. Part of the app involved validating that a user donated a certain amount to a charity - kind of like implementing Stripe or PayPal into an ecommerce flow, only I don't want to handle money myself. Does anyone out there know if such a setup is possible? Has anyone tried this in the past?
