Apple doesn't and won't care as long as its customers don't care. One can already see from some comments here that Apple is infallible and ever correct to some - and this is more of a technical crowd. Imagine what it's like for those who have a slight to little understanding of the issue at hand. Unless a strong competitor comes along that does things differently and better (especially in marketing) Apple can continue delivering mediocre products and being an ass to devs. Unless it directly affects the majority in a tangible fashion, it won't care.
