I largely feel that politicians answer to corporate interests, not citizens. As well, if both corporate parties do not want to end the war on drugs, you just vote for the one closer to your interests because voting for a third party is also a waste of a vote. Corporations are our modern lords. I'm not happy about this but they are very much who is running the show.
