They even implemented a x86 emulator in order to run your usual native software on it.

- koenneker 6y agoI think that the restriction to 32-bit apps is based on the fact, that only the patents covering the early iterations of x86 ISA have expired. Microsoft wouldn't want to be sued by Intel for infringing on later Tech (like x86-64), so emulation is still restricted to this subset.
