Off topic, but I had 2FA setup on my phone for various things, and had it stolen overseas. I was able to lock the phone and erase it...but I was stuck overseas

Off topic, but I had 2FA setup on my phone for various things, and had it stolen overseas. I was able to lock the phone and erase it...but I was stuck overseas without being able to access anything or reset it. There has to be a better way.
- 0xdeadb00f 6y agoTOTP with password protected key backups in the cloud? (Bonus: recovery keys you keep offline, in your wallet or something)
- partiallypro 6y agoI did have some keys backed-up in the Cloud. One issue is that because I was overseas a lot of security protocols locked me out of my accounts -despite- my keys and required an SMS message first...which of course I didn't have a phone with my SIM, so it was impossible to do.
