I'm curious why you feel the need to port them at all? ObjC is pretty far from dead. Perhaps the ObjC runtime will be abandoned by Apple at some point, but I can't see even deprecation (not removal from their shipping systems) taking less than a decade. In particular, note that Swift on Darwin platforms is intimately tied to the ObjC runtime. I wouldn't be surprised if there are long-range aspirations to change that, but it's not feasible in any short term.
