Why not just use a syntax highlighting approach on the address bar? Protocol one color, domain another, slashes one color, query params another, etc.
- snarfy 6y agoIt's a pretty obvious solution, especially to any programmer. I'm having a hard time thinking of a situation where you have information, some more important and some less, where the correct solution is to delete the less important information. It still has importance!

- andromeduck 6y agoWhat you described is more like highlighting the function signature in one color and the entire body in another. Syntax highlighting for the URL would be more like domain/subdomain in one color, emphasising query fields in one color and params in another, with colors potentially varying potentially based on their type/significance. That might help make the URL more readable but again doesn't really help if the relevant parts of the path/query string for trust isn't immediately apparent.

- abraham 6y agoUsing color to convey information is very difficult to make it be accessible while still working with themes and being aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
