I've met a few who were already at a marginal state prior to 2009 and the GFC is what pushed them over that precipice. Things haven't gotten a whole lot better for those that have managed to hang on to the lower class. And if you were paying attention the working class either didn't vote or voted for a demagogue to stick it to the do nothing elites.
