Is being tech focused really better than being management focused? Surely that's just swapping one mis-focused model for another?
I prefer to be in roles that are outcome and value focused. That should mean appropriate tech and sensible management but not for their own sake.

- willcipriano 6y agoI may not be using the best terminology, but what I am talking about are firms where the majority of players consider themselves "non-technical". I haven't found these to be pleasant places to work or places that particularly value software engineers. I wish to work in places where my contributions can be understood and valued by the people I work with.
