Oof. That's the design they're going with?
- sergiomattei 6y agoWhat's so bad about it?
- ryanlol 6y agoIt’s too loud. Consider how other equipment you might place near your tv looks.
- Koshkin 6y agoIndeed. The last thing I want to be marveling at is the damn box. (I’d rather it just blended with the rest of the equipment sitting inside the TV stand.)
- fomine3 6y agoWhen compared to modern "Gaming" PCs, PS5 is less RGB LEDs so less louder.
- ryanlol 6y agoYeah, but very few people would place such monstrosities in their living room.
- patagurbon 6y agoIt's just too much I think. MSFTs moves with the Xbox One X/S and the new editions are the right direction. Understated designs tend to age better, and they match better with other furniture etc (as much as that matters, it really doesn't). This is all subjective ofc.

- encom 6y agoOkay, the device seems over-designed. Some designer went totally overboard and no one told him "no". It's just too much. It looks like some wacky art installation, but it's a device people are supposed to have in their living room, while not drawing too much attention to itself.
- dang 6y agoThat's much better. It's quite interesting how people will often respond to a moderation comment with the thing that they meant to say in the first place. I call those comments rebounds. (Although better, this one isn't good enough yet to be a good HN comment, because it's still a bit snarky. But you could easily fix that.)
- stcont 6y agoPersonally I'm a fan of the flowing lines which depart from the PS4's hard edges. I do hope the design doesn't cause any functionality issues; the PS4 would eject discs when it got hot due to (from my understanding) a rubber foot expanding and pressing against the control.
- Koshkin 6y ago> fan I bet it will be rather noisy - due to the electronics being cramped inside an apparently little space.
