I ran an experiment last year. I messaged over 100 of my 500+ LinkedIn connections with an invitation to reconnect and a link to book a call or in-person meeting. I got two responses - 2% success rate! - and zero followed through with even scheduling a call.
I’ll be deleting my profile soon, as well.
- nafix 6y agoI would ignore a message like that as well. I would expect someone to state their purpose in a message before proposing some kind of call or in-person meeting. I don't think general "reconnecting" is a meaningful purpose.
