LinkedIn got me the job I'm currently in at this here publishing saltmine back in 2013, so I'm a little ambivalent about it - but only a little. Let's put it this way, in the beginning LinkedIn was useful - very useful, but as many commenters are noting here, it's now become something wholly different from what it started out as. I deleted my account a good few years ago now and I don't regret it. And I doubt now that I would ever go back - even if I needed to find another job.
