I suspect there's two parts: 1. GE can only count the dollars it makes from this little scam, not the dollars it lost. It doesn't see the fact that I now resent them (I discovered this "feature" a month ago) and will likely avoid even buying lightbulbs with their logo on them can't factor into their model. 2. These aren't items you replace often, so it will take years for any negative effect to set in, unless the reviews tank.
