Isn't this how the Apple SSDs work with the T2 chip?
- wtallis 6y agoThe T2 chip contains the functionality of a somewhat non-standard NVMe SSD controller, so the x86 CPU running macOS has pretty much the same responsibilities as when dealing with an off the shelf SSD.
