Don't forget to set gpu_mem in config.txt. It looks like you are running with the default, which is 64MB for the GPU. I'm guessing you are not using the GPU in this application and should reduce this value to the bare minimum (which I don't recall, sorry)
- AlexITC 6y agoThanks for the hint, I would be surprised if this old Pi actually has any GPU.
- rasz 6y agopee was always a VideoCore GPU with ARM cores glued to its ass as an afterthought https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VideoCore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VideoCore
- boring_twenties 6y agoThey all do, in fact the GPU is required to boot the CPU. In your free output it is clear that 64MB is assigned to the GPU, as per default, because it says you only have 432M total (available to the CPU). You can gain most (not all) of that 64MB back for free, simply by running `echo gpu_mem=1 | sudo tee -a /boot/config.txt && sudo reboot` (Pretty sure that the minimum is actually more than 1, but also that it will accept that and set it to the minimum... check the docs if you need to be sure)
