  > Same argument against replacing "master / slave". It's a powerful metaphor that sometimes works really well when talking about IT. Whether it works really well depends on cultural loading of the concepts in the audience, that's the nature of metaphor. Choosing terms whose cultural loading has less intense variation will result in more consistent effect.
