Can the latest usb be "defanged" to only provide power and no data, as a security measure? Or are they too smart for that, now?
- Nextgrid 6y agoYou can remove USB communication between the hosts with a cable that doesn’t have any of the USB data lines, but as far as I know the lines for power delivery are required and there is still communication between the PD controllers. You can use a C to A cable (without the data lines, or plugged into yet another adapter that removes the data lines) but that will only work for phones or other low-voltage devices as you can’t get more than 5V out of it.
