I have to question this, and maybe my question also makes this 'fit' the HN mold as this is a bit political, but what makes a cop okay w/ basically destroying their career just to be mean and domineering of others?
On the same day the cop was suspended, deleted his linked-in account, I'd assume w/ the backlash he'll never work in law enforcement again, and seeing the zeal he had when shoving that old man, he must've loved his job, so why ruin it all and throw it all away? How is their culture so much worse than the rest of American culture, or is it?

He's probably cursing his luck there was a camera there because, in all likelihood, if there wasn't, he'd have got clean away with it.
