- Kevguy 6y ago1. Because doctors and nurses and lawyers are required to go through specific education programs to become doctors and nurses and lawyers. Having the knowledge is not enough for those fields - the classes are required if you want to legally be a doctor/nurse/lawyer. Software development is not that way. You can learn it on your own and prove yourself on the job. 2. So become a doctor or a nurse or an affordable lawyer! Or, if you don't want to put the effort in to become one of those, but it is still important to you that there be more of them, support a sibling or niece/nephew to become one. We developers make a lot of money - set up a scholarship or at least offer to pay for books for someone else who needs the help to become a doctor/nurse/lawyer.
