Don't forget we are in the middle of a pandemic, it's not the easiest time to find a job. Also I don't think it ads much to the conversation to try to minimize someones sacrifice, you don't know their personal situation, and even if its not that hard on them personally who cares, it's still a principled stand of where to invest ones time and energy.
