  Not sure I agree with the premise that this has to be only or primarily about how much this guy deserves the attention. Maybe the goal of praising him isn't to make his life better but is instead to encourage other people to also stand up for what they believe in. Or maybe it's to contrast him with other people who are in a similar position of privilege (and feel the same about Zuckerberg's lack of action) but chose not to sacrifice anything at all for their principles.
