What I'd really like to know (and the article also mentions this) is how we resolve the issue of asphyxiation in one autopsy but not the other. Presumably there are physical signs, like burst capillaries or something like that?
- empath75 6y ago"How could I possibly have known he had coronavirus and had trouble breathing-- all he was doing was saying 'i can't breathe' and calling out for his mother. It's not like we're in a global pandemic and everyone is walking around with masks because so many people have a deadly respiratory disease."
- threatofrain 6y agoThat sounds more like a defense if anything. Clearly some retraining is due!
- junon 6y agoNo, this isn't going to change anything. Not every piece of news has to affect current events and their trajectories.
- eggy 6y agoRegardless of the fentanyl and methamphetamine found in his blood, and having hypertension and heart disease, a knee to back of the neck while restrained and not released when the person says they can't breathe is not proper policing. It is brutality. Asphyxiation vs heart attack, etc. don't matter. The police officer's actions were over the top, and cruel.
- rectang 6y agoRegardless of whether I agree with you on that, what I'm interested in is potential malfeasance by either of the two medical examiners.
- tech-historian 6y agoIt doesn't change anything. That's not the point. It's just icing on the tragedy cake for this poor man's final days. A truly awful tale that hopefully has a silver lining in the fact that positive change comes from the event.
