My recommendation is as an all purpose camera for stills and video. So while the GR series are nice cameras, I don't consider them to be as versatile, especially with that fixed 28mm equivalent lens. I tend to think the GR series is more appropriate for people who know what they're doing (and what they want) than people who think they might want to get into photography.
