Flaming editorialization shouldn't be discussed on Hacker News. We can't have constructive discussions when we demonize the other side.

  While demonization is a rampant problem, this article is a far cry from demonization. This is a reasonable criticism of something stupendously terrible.

    "All of the things they care about—outlawing abortion and same-sex marriage, and (though this is never said out loud) maintaining a white majority in America—are under threat." I can't discuss these ideas with someone when the article contains statements like the above. It's her opinion that these men are secretly white supremacists.

      From some viewpoints, men are mostly that. Aggressive, status-quo seeking self-interested people anyway. Anyway, those supposed pillars are a smokescreen - they are hauled out and paraded around to gather folks to the cause. Can't think the article is very useful if they didn't know about that.
