This is a good comparison. Just because you were born with genes that make you 6' tall does not mean that the world should somehow automatically lay itself out in front of you. You can try to make it in the NBA, but you're still going to work like hell because you're competing against all the other people who also happened to be born with those tall genes. Ditto for intelligence.
