It's okay to use Zoom for a bad purpose as long as you pay?
- koolba 6y agoThere is some logic to that. Paying requires you provide something traceable to a physical identity. I still think it’s a dumb move. Imagine if “HTTPS for pay users only” was a thing.
- quickthrower2 6y agoOr https for everyone, root cert validation for paid users only
- bradlys 6y agoYou want to hash out a bad business plan - do it on our paid version of a product. Gotta spend money to burn money.
- joering2 6y agoAlso wouldn't they logic imply you have something to hide? - Special Agent Smith here, FBI - here judge sign this order? - What is it? - Its someone who we suspect of doing bad stuff, AND they are using paid version of Zoom. - Oh that's the encrypted one, right? - Yes, your Honor, the free one is non encrypted, you have to pay to hide your convo. - Here is the paper, good luck.
- quickthrower2 6y agoThere are plenty of legit reasons to want end to end encryption. What if you are discussing a patent that isn’t submitted yet? And if there is a backdoor for police there is a backdoor for more than the police.
- lilyball 6y agoIt sounds like nearly all of the people using Zoom to facilitate abuse are doing so on the free tier (with untraceable throwaway identities).
