You can introduce a second argument but that’s not what I was responding to. This nationalist surge will make America weaker, poorer and dumber over time. So you want to help Americans, help others in the world. Let them come hear, help them build their local economy and engage in trade. Want to hurt Americans, build walls, shut borders, trigger a reverse brain drain. Who cares whether part of the reason to help is self interest, it can at the same time be motivated by compassion. Let’s help each other. We will be stronger for it.
