Considering the number of people and organizations who've suffered the embarrassment of statements that didn't age well, thoughtlessly transcribed by IA, I'm surprised it took this long for someone to try and take them down. I don't for a second believe this is motivated by anything but people who don't want a permanent public archive of the statements of powerful institutions and people.
