E.g. in the peer-to-peer space, we have companies that have huge revenues from ridiculously simple applications, near-zero marginal operational cost, and still find ways to lose money. Yet this is who we lionize and reward with $100B valuations. Trust me, there were lots of rational technical founders working on exactly the same idea without venture capital funding for years before.
