OpenSSL/LibreSSL still requires Perl to compile. Normally I do not have Perl installed, to conserve space. NetBSD thankfully has always done without a large scripting language, only recently have they included Lua. I wonder how long it would take to rewrite the OpenSSL perl scripts in lua.
