Here in Europe the official government propaganda in February/March was that masks were entirely useless. Like you, I thought that was nonsense. Now in May one is required to wear toy masks in supermarkets (scarf is also allowed). The official propaganda says they are effective. Government at work. The bailouts have already begun.
