In London there's a startup which sells such rejected, ugly fruit and veg: https://www.oddbox.co.uk/ https://www.oddbox.co.uk/ (no affiliation beyond being a happy customer)
- pkaye 6y agoMy understanding is the ugly food is often times used to make packaged foods like pre-chopped fruits and veggies, salads, apple sauce, baby carrots.
- bananapear 6y agoConsidering their stated purpose, the fruit and veg in their marketing are remarkably photogenic
- jeffwass 6y agoIt's not just ugly fruits/veg, it's food that would otherwise be discarded for any reason. I've only been receiving their boxes for a few weeks now, and gotten some strange J-shaped cucumbers, but most of the produce looks normal.
