Anyone using Node.js for work who has updated to Catalina here? How did it go? I heard there were problems with node-gyp, but didn't investigate further. Everything running smoothly now? Any gotchas?
- nvahalik 6y agoI helped a junior dev get set up with this a couple of weeks ago. The docs on GitHub worked just fine.
- Sayrus 6y agoI had to reinstall xcode cli tools as node-gyp couldn't compile anything after the update. However, this is pretty straightforward and there wasn't any gotchas. I did not investigate the root cause so reinstalling XCode might be a bit overkill.
- holstvoogd 6y agoyeah, you have to run xcode-select --install after every update/install afaik
- jorisw 6y agoI use Node.js all day, no change here after updating. I use n to manage Node.js versions.
- egorfine 6y agoNo problem with node.js and native modules development whatsoever.
- woutr_be 6y agoI haven’t experienced any issues at both of my machines. I have a couple of different version through nvm, all running smooth from the start.
