I think a lot more maths is needed. "CS109 Probability for Computer Scientists" does not look like a sufficiently deep study in statistics. Spending time studying operating systems and compilers (both things I've studied) at the cost really submersing yourself in the maths of probability seems to me to be a misallocation of a scarce resource (time). e.g. a course in Bayesian statistics, and also in traditional statistical inference would be useful (for instance, this gives a good foundation for understanding the EM algorithm.)
