We're currently trying to figure out how to relocate to Port Townsend, WA from Seattle. It's a small(ish) town that's semi-rural. Lots of agricultural activity in the local community, hacker / maker spaces, festivals, etc. My wife and I found that we would frequently vacation outside of cities after living in them for about 10 years; so we figured we might as well try to live where we find relaxation (especially since we rarely take advantage of the perks of urban life). The only real downside is the lack of good broadband. There are a few local providers (DSL, Cable, etc.) - but I'm fairly unimpressed. Right now my hope is to build a hobby / side-business delivering Internet in the "just out of reach" areas around town.
