Doist, the remote-only company behind Todoist, created Twist [1] to address this issue.

- dorian-graph 6y agoI hope Twist takes off. I'd like to give it a go. Forums are great for structured conversations, but poor for unstructured—and Slack is the opposite.
- maxgt 6y agoWe (fully remote team) made the switch from Slack to Twist about two years ago and never looked back. They really focus on asynchronous communication.
- phixiuz 6y agoTwist was a true game changer for our remote team, been using it for over a year now after 3 years of slack. Before, with slack, we also experienced the typical frustrations of it being very distracting, and the synchronous communication could often lead to unneeded tensions within the team. Since adopting Twist, our workplace is now much calmer and more productive! They also dogfood their own product, and their team has been remote from the start AFAIK. (fyi, not affiliated with them in any way, just really happy with their product, they deserve a shout-out!)
