Analytics systems have different requirements from normal transaction processing systems, so it naturally follows that DuckDB could specialize to fill those requirements better than SQLite. Many people bring up row stores (SQLite) vs column stores, but there are many other interesting differences and optimizations to be made, so I can see how SQLite may be leaving some niche unfilled.
