A replacement CPU would make more sense. It should support the same operating systems and motherboards. I wonder if Intel would be asked by a lot of people to replace their CPUs.

- madars 6y agoIf history is any tell Intel allocated $475M pre-tax charge against earnings when they did Pentium FDIV replacements -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_FDIV_bug https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentium_FDIV_bug . But I assume most people are more likely to raise a ruckus for potentially invalid computations, than for subtle potentially leaky computations.
