For other people coming across the thread, the repo for the modules is here (sorry for not posting this in the original post: https://github.com/EHfive/pulseaudio-modules-bt https://github.com/EHfive/pulseaudio-modules-bt) Good news is that there's some more activity towards upstreaming them; at least in my experience, they Just Worked(TM) as far as the system automatically selecting LDAP or AAC as needed.
