Apples Macintosh division is the most profitable PC company in the world and has been for at least a decade. In fact, Macintosh is likely more profitable than all other PC companies combined.
Less than 10% is no excuse.

- valuearb 6y agoJust an estimate. Revenues about $25B a year with net margins around 15-20% works out to $4B to $5B in profits a year. It’s possible margins are slightly lower than that but historically they were 20%+. The rest of the market is roughly $100B, and has net profit margins of 2-3%.
- valuearb 6y agoActually other PC company revenues are at least $200B so it’s probable roughly even.
- pier25 6y agoLike I said in another comment, is not about the revenue per se, but it's undeniable that the more popular iOS is the less Apple cares about the Mac.
