Out of interest, what compensation do you usually take on new hires?

  It varies quite a bit to be fair. It depends on a number of factors including salary level, client size, formal agreements in place, potential for future business, etc. The lowest fee I have charged to date is equivalent to 15% of the candidates salary. I have also worked on roles where my fee has been 35% so as you can imagine, it really is circumstantial.

      Some agencies do charge around the 10% mark. Mainly the rubbish high street agencies who tend to give the rest of us a bad name. That being said, rubbish recruiters aren't exclusive to rubbish agencies.
