High Growth Engineering: The power of proposals
- sjwhitworth 6y agoHi gang. I've just started a newsletter that focuses on discussing techniques for building better software and being more effective in high growth companies. I'm doing this for a couple of reasons. 1) I love writing, and it's a creative outlet. 2) I think it's a sorely under-discussed topic. Would love to hear feedback and thoughts.

I am a mid / senior engineer trying to work smarter and I believe this newsletter will help me with thinking about problems in the correct context and asking myself the right questions. I really appreciate the resources attached to this particular topic (the list of questions) as it is something I have personally struggled with in the past in my career. Do you by any chance have a sneak preview on topics you will be addressing in the near future? I have just been made redundant so am taking the opportunity to learn as much as I can before I get into my next role. Thanks again!
- sjwhitworth 6y agoHey Dan. Great to hear from you. I touch on the sorts of topics I'll be covering in the introduction of the post. Roughly, it'll be a blend between operating more effectively (e.g. better estimating work, taming Slack), and more technical posts (effectively testing in production, etc)
